BookOrders is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated Amazon storefronts.
What that means in practice
Every link on this site that goes to Amazon is an affiliate link. If you follow one and buy something, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to Amazon directly - the commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your pocket.
Affiliate links are marked in the page source with
rel="nofollow sponsored", which is the standard signal search engines use to
identify paid links.
What it does not mean
- It does not affect what we list. Reading orders are compiled from open catalogues. A book does not get moved up an order, and a series does not get a page, because of commission.
- It does not mean we have reviewed the book. This site is a reference for reading order, not a review site. We do not rate books ourselves.
- It does not give us your data. We never see who bought what. Amazon reports totals only.
Why we do not show prices
Displaying an Amazon price requires licensed access to Amazon's product data. Amazon retired the Product Advertising API in May 2026, and its successor is restricted to accounts with an established sales record. Rather than publish a price we cannot keep accurate - or scrape one, which Amazon's terms prohibit - we show none at all. Follow any link to see the real, current price and availability.
For the same reason, any reader rating you see on this site is Open Library's and is labelled as such. We never republish Amazon star ratings or review counts.
Other storefronts
Where a free, legal full text exists we link to it at the Internet Archive - and we say plainly whether that is because the book is out of copyright or because the Archive lends a scan of a book still in copyright. Those links are not affiliate links and earn us nothing.
