BookOrders is assembled entirely from openly licensed catalogues. Nothing on this site is scraped from Amazon or any other retailer.

Wikidata

Wikidata supplies the part that matters most: which books belong to which series, and their position in it. It is the only free catalogue that records a series ordinal as structured data rather than as a loose string. Author biographical facts, genres and recurring characters also come from here.

Licence: CC0 1.0 (public domain dedication). No attribution required; given anyway.

Open Library

Open Library, a project of the Internet Archive, supplies edition data: ISBNs, cover art, page counts, reader ratings and whether a full free text exists. The ISBNs are what let us build a direct link to the right book on Amazon without needing any Amazon API access.

Licence: catalogue data is released under CC0. Cover images are served from covers.openlibrary.org.

Wikipedia

Author biographies are the opening summary of the corresponding English Wikipedia article. Every biography on this site links back to its source article.

Internet Archive

Free full texts on the free books page are hosted by the Internet Archive. We link to them; we do not host any book text ourselves.

Amazon

Amazon supplies nothing to this site except the destination of a link. We hold no Amazon product data, which is why no prices, Amazon star ratings, review counts or stock status appear anywhere here. Links carry our Associates tag - see the affiliate disclosure.

Accuracy

Open data has gaps. Where a series is not numbered in the sources, we say so on the page and fall back to publication order. Where a series is missing entirely from the automated data, the order is compiled by hand and marked as hand-checked. Currently 418 series are published.
